OMG, I can't believe I happened to find this.

The original Fright Night from my childhood!

Growing up in the Louisville (KY) area one of the shows I got to watch (live and in reruns) was Fright Night. It was my first introduction to classic and not so classic horror movies. The "Fearmonger" was so corny, but as a kid then, the effect was still impressive. In his deep baritone, he would omniously warn of fiendish things to come in the movie; and during breaks, he'd offer deadpan puns about things that had just happened in the movie. Perhaps this is the reason I enjoy doing Fright Night LA now. Fond memories.
