Nashville Visit (Jan 09)

Last winter, a dear friend I've known for years flew into Nashville to meet with me there. We spent several days toether wnadering the city, dining and even caught a couple really good jazz shows. One of Nazshville's most unique features is the Temple of Athena. Built as a display in the 1897 Centennial Exposition, the locals elected to preserve this unique aspect of the festival. Voltaire and the Skeletal Orchestra – Nashville (Apr 09)

As mentioned in a previous “post”, back in April, I was fortunate enough to get to see Voltaire and his traveling band perform live at the Mercy Lounge in Nashville. Without a doubt it was a great show.

Voltaire and the Skeletal Orchestra appearing live in Nashville - 22 April

I'm planning to drive up for this show come Hell or high water. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door.

For folks who are unfamiliar with Volataire, he is legendary for his sarcastic goth folk music. He wrote and performed the song "Brains!" for the "Grimm Adventures of Billy and Mandy" and regularly fills 3000 seat halls for shows (especially at DragonCon). Check out his website for info on the show http://www.myspace.com/voltairenyc.
