Can you tell it's another dull day at work?

I found out that the Minolta Z5 I've been drooling over, that was released only this past February, and that was my primary choice to purchase - has been DISCONTINUED! Believe it or not, they've already come out with a "Z6" (6 megapixel) model. The good thing is the price is dropping like a rock. The bad thing is the availability is falling off fast too.

This leaves me faced with a simple decision. Spend $350 or so on an obsolete camera which fills my needs, or perhaps consider a slightly more expensive digital SLR which is closer to what I was budgeting originally (though a bit more expensive) and is expandable.

I'd suggest looking for one of 'em on ebay...bargains galore baby!

Get the new one. Even with the improvements on the new one, the quick discontinuing of the "old" one so quickly says to me that there may be issues with it that they never published. But then I'm /p/a/r/a/n/o/i/d/ cautious about technology.
