Nature Photo of the Day

Last week, many thunderstorms rolled off the San Gabriel Mountains north into the Antelope Valley and Mojave Desert. Late Saturday afternoon, I noticed the sky turning a dark reddish orange. Grabbing the camera, I caught the setting sun reflecting off this massive thunderhead.

This summer was filled with multiple expeditions out into the nearby desert and mountains. Many of these trips were taken with the happy company of my children Brenna persephone1313 and Chris; as well as my friend Angela badgerphone. In this case, we also hooked up with Tracy senzaf1ne and her brother for a joint venture into the mountains and desert at the north edge of the Antelope Valley/western Mojave.

Just beyond the barns and storage buildings in the complex were two houses. The first one was for sale and closed us, but it had been empty for some time. The house next door dated from the 1920’s (a Craftsman Bungalow?). It had been added to and modernized several times. More importantly, it was open.

Molly Crabapple Rainy Day Coloring Book signing (Mar 07) – part 2 (conclusion)

I’ve been going through old files and photo sets trying to clear up some of the material that’s been overlooked or missed. In this case, I was personally invited to attend and photograph Molly’s visit to Hollywood and the signing party for her ode to Dr Sketchy’s Anti Art. Back in May, I made a copy of all the basic (unedited, resized or modified) pictures and passed the CD-r to Kat Bardot. As this point, I mistakenly coded the file that it was complete and planned to do the edits later. As is usually the case, life interceded and I completely forgot about the file and the amazingly fun evening. I’m making up for that now I hope..
