This was the last session held at the Hollywood Bungalow Club and fell soon after the Los Angeles Times printed a glowing article about the event (one in which I appeared in the article, taking a picture of Scarlett Letter). Because of that article, this was also an incredibly crowded session, with over 20 artists and no less than 4 photographers. The size of the audience and the lack of unoccupied space made for cluttered sightlines and very, very short focal lengths. As a result, this was the most challenging shoot I’ve ever done. I’m not entirely sure I did our lovely model, burlesque performer Ruby White justice with these, but we’ll see.

Two samples of the audience size

I tried to be creative and remove people from the background in some photos

In others, I faded them into the background.
