Storms and Sirens

Ah northern Alabama in the spring. I woke up this morning well before the alarm with a little ingestion, so I got up, showered and dressed. Save for the distant flashes of lighting and soft rumble of thunder in the distance, I had a quiet, dark house all to myself.
At 6am, the tornado sirens let loose. Within a few moments, Chris woke and joined me checking the weather info on the TV and on-line. We didn't take a hit from this storm line. The most we got this morning was high winds and heavy downpours of rain. Because of how strong the storm was and when it arrived in the area, the city schools here are all delayed two hours.
